Woodland Sculpture

College Woods, Apley.
Wonderful Bugle flowers.

We are very lucky to be part of a small team chosen to design and create a sculpture to be placed at the entrance to this amazing wood.

The sculpture site.
Yesterday we took a stroll through the wood and then played around with some ideas.
Our idea ( and its a good one ) is now being sent to several artists to add their thoughts and come up with a working design.
Then we start to make it come to life.
Amazing Life.

Book Sharing Monday - Harry Builds a House by Derek Radford.

An old family favourite, passed on to us from friends around 12 years ago.
L ( now nearly 15 years ) loved this and had anyone and everyone who visited us for any length of time read it to him at least once.

The pictures are fab, I mean who couldn't love a team of hippos building a house ? The information is great - ceiling joists, electric wires, screw plugs, it's all here.

Then there are the big guns - the diggers, the loaders .. oh my !

We all use to know this by heart but I have to admit after afew years of being neglected on the book case, we are all alittle patchy, not for much longer I feel, O is definitely a Harry builds a House type of kid.

Beltane Fires

Wild garlic butter .. yum.
We spread it on bread, pittas and new pots .. oh my they were good.

Warm, glowing fire to celebrate the May, we sat and laughed, sang ( badly ) ate and drank.
A family affair, just us and my parents .. a wonderful evening.

Hunter Happiness

I asked anyone and everyone I saw yesterday, if they knew a place with a good patch of wild garlic ( me being completely inspired by Claire over at http://mamauktalesfromwales.blogspot.com/ )
I received lots of great advice of where to find the best, tastiest and most garlicky ! But all where miles away.
Another Free Food Friday missed.

Until on the way home from the drama, ballet and tap runs that is our Saturday, I spied it from the car window, not 2 minutes from home, right there under my nose.

I'm a day late in joining in but am too excited to wait until next week.
Forgive me ... please.
Off to make lots of garlic goodies.
Thanks Claire.
