A year of blogging

Just diggin' in the dirt. I have loved this first year of blogging, after reading other people's blogs for sooo long before taking the plunge myself, when I did it felt like a huge deal.

I have loved sharing the things that make me smile, life's simple, day-to-day events, the joy of family and friends.

I have loved your comments, reading each and every one and marvelling at hearing from old friends and loving making new ones, all so very special.

I have loved finding a space to remind myself that even at your lowest, when days are so very difficult, there really is something to smile about and share with others.

Thank you.

O, K and I are heading off to HES FES tomorrow http://www.hesfes.co.uk/gpage6.html for a week but before packing up all our gear, I'd love to offer some small tokens of my thanks for sharing this space with me.
Please leave a comment, great to hear from old, treasured friends and wonderful to hear from you if you've never left a comment before. Will pick some winners on our return.

I adore this plate, found in a charity shop along with the other 3 seasons. Made by Poole Pottery, they were a bargain.

Book Sharing Monday - I've forgotten Edward by Susan Hill

Picked up for 15p at a Blue Peter Bring & Buy Sale ( remember them ? ) years ago, this became an absolute favourite of L.

Sam realizes he's forgotten his bear, Edward, when him and Mum are too far down the road to go back and collect him.

All the lovely shopkeepers offer Sam goodies to cheer him up but all he wants is Edward.

Even meeting Grandad at the park doesn't lift Sam's spirits.

All ends well on the return home, cuppa for Mum and a cuddle with Edward for Sam.
Lots more people taking part in Book Sharing Monday, info here.

At the Air Show

While L was helping police the Waddington Air Show with his cadet group,

we ( after a quick look round in the heat ) lounged under the stunning blue sky, picnic ed,

played,

and watched some planes.

Musical Week

Kate Rusby at Lincoln Castle and Seth Lakeman at Conkers Waterside Centre, all in one week ... both fantastic concerts but the best was yet to come.
K's first performance with Silver Sounds Brass Band at the annual Twinning Duck Races held in the next village to us, Dunston.
The bands version of The Great Escape was fantastic .. one very proud Mama.

And one very proud little brother, O rushed the stage to give his sister a hug.

Time for chilling with Grandad by the river watching those ducks.
