Book Sharing Monday - Happy Families by Allan Ahlberg

Fantastic characters, wobbley waitresses, Mr and Mrs Hay ( the front and back end of a pantomine horse ! ) scary Mr Creep the Crook and so many more.
We have borrowed them all so many times from the library but now we are slowly adding to our collection, picking them up in charity shops, library sales and this weekend scoring these 5 nearly new books for £1 at a car boot sale.
K has loved them and I have loved reading them to her.I think we both will be fighting over who will get the pleasure of introducing them to O.

Ooh I used to love the Happy Families book! I'm loving the section at the back of the Family section in Saturday's Guardian - it's about children's book and building up a library.

I love your Book Sharing Monday - also I agree with Daisy about the Lucy Mangan series in the Saturday Guardian - unfortunately I've not kept all the articles, but the list of books is available online and we're going to use it for home ed from September.

Ha my cousin has these, to be honest I think I spend more time readint these than she does!

Agree about the Guardian article- it's all the best children's books too, you know, the semi-obscure, somewhat older ones. I'm not saying Harry potter doesn't have his place, but......
