Summer Knitting

Knitting up a storm here, finishing off older projects, quick, easy summer knits, using up leftover yarn and planning new ones.

This Gnome House is well under way, felting the pieces is the next step.
Pattern from here - http://www.hedgehoglane.com/ Wonderful pattern, great fun and so quick and easy.
I have some gnomes very eager to move in.

Yarn leftover from knitting those Elizabeth Zimmermann BSJs http://abigsmile4.blogspot.com/2009/10/knitting-matters.html has turned into a wonderful sweetpea inspired Pebble Vest.

The Toddler Pebble is also finished, using up my hand-dyed yarn
http://abigsmile4.blogspot.com/2010/05/in-dye-pot.html all ready for O's Autumn wear.

Then some quick, fun summer knits, peas and lemons.

What's on your needles ?

Tell ya what isn't on my hook anymore... the DRESS - yippeeee. Just gotta finish sewing in the sends and then send off tomorrow.

I'm just starting a large crocheted tote bag of my own design, using the yarn I bought recently from Get Knitted.

Oh my goodness, the peas are adorable! A gnome house sounds like a very nice summer knitting project, I would like to make one some day. Thanks for the inspiration!

Lovely, I've seen the gnome house pattern and wondered about getting it, wondering if it was esy to knit.

Love the peas too, always knitting fruit and veg here.

Currently finishing off some dolls and sheep and a project for a show (recently blogged my WIPs - just need to get on with them now).

So much beautiful knitting going along. How I just love, love those vests you knot. Jediah wears his a lot! One for all the colours of the week would be so cool, wouldn't it! I must get the pattern off you and try that! The sweetpea inspired colours are fantastic. So happy and vibrant. You are a talented, creative knitter. On my needles - cotton squares to serve as wipes for nappy changing. I'm making a huge pile of them. They work so well. Happy knitting, dear friend. Wish I could sit and craft and chat with you one of these days.

I'm working on a BSJ, planning
a(nother!) Pebble, and have that gnome house on my "to-knit" list...as well as "organically growing" lettuce leaves and baby carrots on my needles, just for fun! I came up with a nice knitted toadstool (also organically grown...ie. just make it up as I go)...haven't had a chance to write the pattern out yet but will share as a tutorial sometime soon! You must be my sister-in-knitting! I'm also working on a rainbow shawl for myself.
LOVE your banner...did you make that incredible mosaic?

Oh, love it all. Beautiful colors too.

I've been having a hard time motivating myself this time of year to knit - when of course I SHOULD be knitting to have things for gifting later in the year! ;) I think I'm at the point where I need to do more than teach myself through experimenting, since I want to do more advanced patterns and colorways.

Oh wow you have been busy knitting some gorgeous things. I just love the peas and lemon!

On my needles is sadly nothing but on my crochet hook is a scarf just for me that I had better get finished otherwise Winter will be over before I know it! xo

Oh my I love the peas and lemon. Can you share where you found the patterns or post a tutorial? I am working on a list of Christmas gifts as we are having a homemade Christmas and these would be perfect for my 3yo.

Blessings, Elizabeth

Such a clever lady! Peas have got to be my favourite :-)

Hmmm, my needles? *trots off to rummage and jog memory* Ah yes, a square for a patchwork blanket, a chick that I suppose I'll finish for next spring(oops) and two rows of a scarf for my mother for Christmas. Not overly enthusiastic about my knitting right now ;-)

If I was as talented as you clever lady I'd knit a whole green grocers :-)
