Joining in with Ginny and all those wonderful bloggers who take part in
Yarn Along, sharing a book on the bedside table and a project on the needles,
a perfect combination.
In my attempt to tidy, sort and declutter in preparation for the festive season,
I am trying to work my way through Mount Magazine,
great for flicking through with a cuppa and inspiration gathering,
just SO many of them !
On the needles, another Pilot Cap from Little Turtle Knits,
using yarn from my stash and making it as bright as possible,
to bring a smile its new owner.
This hat is for a very special head, a friend in another country,
which one we're not sure, who's head is unknown too.
This hat will be added along with mittens, soap, flannel, toothbrush and paste
and lots more to our shoe boxes for
Operation Christmas Child.
Our seventh year of sending our boxes of love to new friends,
in memory of our girl Emma Joan.
On Sunday, we have invited friends and family to exchange a filled box,
for a slice or two of cake and a cup of tea.
We will gather together and celebrate a little life and all that she has achieved.

I'm making knitted things to go in our shoe boxes too, love the bright colours you've picked :-)
Lovely bright colours. And all those magazins for inspiration.........
Thank you so much for the shoebox link. I have been wanting to do this with my children this year. So lovely to do things like this and handmade knitted gifts? Great!!!
Ah - I am loving CL Christmas edition. Lovely colourful hat. Lots of love xxx
It's the time of the year...I've pulled out my needles and my knitting keeps me company with these chilly, dark, early nights.
Wish I was there to join the group:)XOXO
Thanks for popping over! Love those magazines too, great for new ideas. Beautiful knitting, enjoy your event on Sunday...sounds special.
That "mount" reminds me of my pile of Victoria magazines under my old bed, still in my parents' house. :)
Thanks for your sweet comment. I love the colors in your hat! :)
I enjoy grabbing a handful of old magazines from time to time as well.
Your knitting looks beautiful.
I have a stack of magazines I was given that I need to page through.
Your knitting is lovely. We put together Christmas boxes for families in our area and this will be my first year adding knits, I'm very excited.
xx
What a lovely thing you're doing! And I love the color combination.
I saw the English "Country Living" magazine once; it's not quite like our "Country Living" mag. But everybody likes country living, either way!
Thanks for stopping by.
What a great gift to give. We go to the Alternative Gift Market to pick out a gift. I love homemade so much better!
I always love a good stack of magazines! Very cheerful knitting colors!
What a great thing to put in a shoebox! Love it!
This shoebox project sounds great, and the colors of the yarns too.
I really have to get my knitting out.
Lovely knitting, and much easier to turn the pages of a magazine than a book when you have knitting on the go I think ;) xx
What a beautiful idea x
Happy beautiful colours. That is a wonderful idea, and perfect for the season (and every day!).
Oh, what a wonderful idea! You're going to make someone very happy this Christmas. I love the pilot cap pattern and the colors you've chose. Beautiful!
I've never heard of Operation Christmas Child. I'll have to see if they operate in the U.S. too. I'm sure the child who receives your pilot cap will love it.
Those colours are so great together - I love Pilot Caps! :)
