One thing we do is write the letters of the alphabet individually on post-it notes and walk around the house sticking them on things that begin with that letter, you could try it with numbers, finding groups of things of that number (spoons, toy bricks, stones etc) or say give them a 2 and a 3 and tell them to + - x it or whatever and then they have to find a group of something that equals the answer. I hope that makes sense. Oh and also that play dough is very pretty x
Great idea! Bug got a pack of 100 cookie cutters for Christmas and I've been wondering what to do with them - some are numbers, so making playdough numbers is a great idea.
I have a maths-o-phobe here too and wrote about it a while ago about some of the ideas that helps us with V was 7: http://littlegreenblog.com/family-and-food/green-parenting/teaching-maths-with-home-education-10-tips/

Lovely idea....it's hard to meet things in a fresh manner sometimes, but homeschooling means you get to do that on a daily basis.
I love making homemade play dough for the grands. It keeps them busy for hours! Love the creativity, XOXO
