Juice

Woke up, feeling ready for a change, hungry for something clean and fresh.
Let the juicing commence
Carrot, kiwi, ginger and lemon with some kale to start the day.
Felt good, could almost hear my body saying "thanks"
No promises of juice fast/feasting for a week, a month
One day at a time, a start, new beginnings, such a gift.

Snow Ice Cream

A bowl of snow, splash of milk, sugar to taste and a dash of vanilla
Stir, stir, stir and eat
Heaven in a bowl

Choose your snow wisely, remember no yellow snow !

And then Winter came

In all its icy, white glory
Snowmen, snow dogs, sledging
Chilly chickens
Frozen tractors
Cold, sparkling beauty

Pink

The day started with play dough making, simple, easy and fun and something I so often, overlook.
Half a cup of salt
1 cup of flour
1 tbsp cream of tartar
1 tbsp oil
1 cup of boiling ish water
Food colouring
Essential oil

Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl, add the oil, water, food colouring ( always pink here but your choice ;) ) and a couple of drops of an essential oil, for a heavenly smell ( we used lavender )
Stir and stir and stir ( bingo wings be gone )
Add more flour if too sticky.
Then as it starts to come together, get your hands in and knead until soft.

The diggers, police and army were very quick to arrive, must be pink lovers too.

On my plate

What do I put on my plate ?
Is it realistic ?
Too much ?
Too little ?
How much do I allow others to pile on my plate ?
Do I welcome, encourage it ?

I love food and left to my own devices, would always pile my plate high.
Along with rethinking those portions, I am thinking about my life on a plate, lessening some areas and heaping it on in others.
Discovering, rethinking and reeducating myself.
What will tickle your taste buds in 2013 ?

Eat your veggies

New starts
Avoiding the big supermarkets for as long as possible, seeking out the butchers, farm shops more and nipping into the co-op when all else fails.
Doddington Hall today for a little fresh veg top up, the cupboards are still groaning with Christmas cheer, so jacket potatoes, tomatoes and some mushrooms to see us through, the veg box arrived this week too.
So, we're set, inventive use it up meals for January, here we come.
