Book Sharing Monday

Today, just has to be all about The Best Nest by P.D.Eastman for so many reasons.
Most importantly this is the first book that K very proudly, read to us with no help.
And then really because all that this book is, the gathering of bits of wool, string, hay for building the best possible nest in the best possible place is going on right outside my door.
Although I feel a few mistakes are being made.

Right outside K's bedroom window is the fab bird-box she made last Summer ... waiting for some feathered friends to move in, create a love nest and have some babies.

Instead, a pair of dim-wit sparrows have chosen to nest in the bat-box that L made, which is outside his window !

We are keeping our fingers crossed that the babies will be really ready to fly when they drop out the bottom of the box or maybe I can work on N, to put a safety net underneath !

Book Sharing Monday - Celebration Giveaway

O really does have far too many board books ( the above photo is only a small selection ! ) .... so, in celebration of joining Book Sharing Monday, we are going to have a giveaway.

Tell us your Babes favourite book and for the best one we'll send a couple of pre-loved board books your way.

Book Sharing Monday - From the Baby's Basket

Another over-flowing collection of wonderful stories.

An all-time favourite, shared in this house for the last 14 ( nearly 15 ) years.
We're going on a Bear Hunt by Micheal Rosen.

We have owned so many copies of this book from board to paper to hard-back.
They have been left on holidays, gifts for friends, lost on days out but we always seem to have a copy on the go.

Fantastic pictures, wonderful text.

This book has encouraged so many games, pictures, songs and countless other stories.

We love it.
Go look here for other people sharing their books this Monday

Book Sharing Monday

We adore books, all of us.

We have shelves, baskets and cupboards full of them. There is always a pile waiting to be read, looked at, on the dining room table, some under my bed ( mostly needing to be returned to the library ! ) some in the car, even some ready for a read while in the bath.

So I am really looking forward to taking part in Book Sharing Monday. Thanks to Alex over at for setting it up and so generously allowing us to join in.

Want to come play too ?

Birthday Treats

A much longed for trip to Ryton Organic Gardens near Coventry.

Such colour and inspiration.

Looked just like the entrance to The Secret garden.

Willow sculpture seat with wonderful smelling herbs growing around it.

Entrance to the bio-dynamic garden. I love spirals.

The Bee Garden was my favourite, so full of colour and amazing smells.

A place to relax.

A place to truly celebrate turning 38 !
