Ours have yet to produce since winter started... getting so anxious! Do you know if there are foods in particular we should give them to help boost product in a natural way?:) I am new to raising chicken and can use all the help I can get!
Go, go, go chickens. You know my man keeps reminding me we can't have chickens in a yard but just this morning I had a clear flashback to our cockerel chasing me across the yard for daring to enter his domain when I was a tiny girl. Oh to be blessed with daily fresh eggs once again. Blessings to you and yours. xx
My sister said the same thing about her hens! I don't think I'd be laying with such cold temperatures :D Fresh eggs and baking--that's a recipe for success. Love you, XOXO
hi, i have just come across your blog, isnt it just great when your chickens start to lay again, everyday i wonder how many iam going to get i know at least 3 of my 4 are laying again x glad to of found your blog helen x
What an exciting view!! I can't wait until we get set up this year.:o)
Hallie, I don't know if this is an across the board comment or not, but I think it has more to do with how much light per day they are exposed to vs any food they may or may not be eating.
Yay! What lovely coloured eggs you have there. What breed of chickens do you have? I am all very new to chickens as we have only had chickens for a couple of weeks, we are loving it. Next step, hatching our own chicks! :)
Thanks for the egg love,we have been having 1 or 2 eggs each day throughout the winter, some days none, so such a joy to see 4 again. Hallie, relax and enjoy your hens, such fun to have, how old are they ? young hens maybe not ready for laying yet and as restless prairie farm says it is all to do with the day light they are getting for egg production.Feeding them good layer pellets and some grit now and again. You just wait, happy egg days soon xx
Barefoot crofter, hope those girls are back with you soon.

They are so pretty!
I often daydream about having chickens...and a farm...and no neighbors.
Oops, did I get off topic there?
Love your photo--and those beautiful eggs!
